Thursday, January 17th Game Recap

TRF at Warroad

TRF’s Faith Porter made 47 saves. Unfortunately Warroad had 52 shots. Warroad’s Quinn Kuntz made 16 saves. Unfortunately TRF only had 16 shots.

Warroad keeps its perfect record. They are now 20-0-0. Hannah Corneliusen had 3 assists. Sydney Phaneuf had 1 and 2. Julianna Teske and Genevieve Hendrickson each had 2 goals.

Warroad 5. TRF 0.

NWC at Eden Prairie

NWC got a taste of the Lake Conference as they move in there next year. Bourgerie, Lemke, Martin, and LaRose will be seniors next year. I think they might have a hard time competing in the Lake Conference as soon as they are gone. EP took it to them in this one outshooting them 35-20.

EP kept the Bourgerie/Lemke/Finnerty line from scoring. The Eagles’ Grace Kuipers had a hat trick. And Carrie Byrnes (one off my list of best 2020 uncommiteds) just committed to Brown. Congrats Carrie!

EP 4. NWC 2.

Mound at Holy Family

Mound remains as one of 2 unbeaten teams after beating Holy Family. I’ve said this before but Mound might be the most balanced teams in the state. And that has been the key to their success this year. They are 17-0-3 on the year. They have great goal scoring, great D, and a fantastic goaltender. The biggest threat to their unbeaten season will be Proctor/Hermantown on January 26th. They should have no problem coming out of Section 2A and they most likely would face Breck in the State Tourney semis, based on seedings, and I believe they could give Breck a run for their money.

Mound 3. Holy Family 2.

Lakeville North at Lakeville South

The last game these two played against each other the official scorekeeper ran out of ink in his pen because there were so many penalties. Last night? Only 6. So civilized. I think the girls may have gotten together for tea after the game.

Lakeville North 3. Lakeville South 2.

Notable Performances

I was really good in my beer league game last night. 3 goals including the game winner. Thank you very much.

I am sure there were some great performances by some girls last night but I don’t have time to look. I need to get to the rink to watch some hockey!
