Oh, there are some good ones tonight! Here we go….
Roseau at Brainerd/Little Falls
If I just say “Brainerd” instead of “Brainerd/Little Falls” I’m not offending the Little Falls people am I? There are a bunch of others (Esko-Carlton, Chisholm, North Branch, Tartan etc….I’m talking about you!) that it would just make my life a lot easier if I could just write the first town in the co-op. So from here on out that’s how it’s going to be. No offense intended. Okay? Okay.
The last time these two met Brainerd won 4-2. The score was tied at 2s until the back half of the last period when Brainerd scored a couple goals to get the W. Tim, don’t read into that W. In this case it just stands for ‘win’. Ha.
I think Brainerd wins tonight. But it will be a one goal game.
Brainerd 3. Roseau 2.
Andover at Grand Rapids
Calm down, Greenway. See above. I mean you do it to Coleraine all the time, okay? So chill out. Grand Rapids has lost 5 in a row and 6 of 7. They have an opportunity to turn things around and make a statement as this is a Section 7AA match up.
Andover has pitched 3 shutouts in a row and have outscored their opponents 19-0 over that stretch. Pretty impressive. Grand Rapids has some firepower in Vekich, Drotts, and Peart so another shutout probably isn’t in the cards.
Andover 5. Grand Rapids 2.
Blake at Edina
#2 Blake vs. #1 Edina. If Blake had beat Hill Murray then the rankings would’ve been flip flopped. These two played way back on November 13th. Edina won the game 4-3 scoring all 4 goals in the second period. Blake outshot the Hornets 38-27. This will be another great game and I think the Bears can win this one. Lots of fire power between the two teams. This will come down to goaltending.
Blake 5. Edina 4.
