Cretin Derham Hall at Woodbury
I had this one at 5-1 for CDH. Real life was 4-2. CDH’s Emily King got it going with 1 and 1. Ari Evans added two assists. Goalie Kailie Smith continues to play great with 27 saves on 29 shots.
Woodbury got goals from Nicole Stickels and Annika Johnson.
CDH moves to 2-2 and Woodbury falls to 1-3.
Stillwater at Forest Lake
I had this one at 5-2 for Forest Lake. Real life was 9-3. The score was just 2-1 in favor of the Rangers after one. The Rangers lit up the scoreboard in the second scoring 5 goals!
Breija Parent had 2 and 1. Rachel Golnitz had 2 and 1. Rachel is averaging more than a goal per game as a D. She might want to change the spelling of her last name to GOALnitz. Brooke Remington had 2 goals. Ashley Mills had 1 and 2. Ellen Nelson had 2 assists. Samantha Boerboom had 1 and 1.
Forest Lake remains unbeaten at 3-0. Stillwater falls to 2-2.
Brainerd/Little Falls at Minnetonka
In three meetings over three years B/LF is unbeaten against Minnetonka. The score was tied at 0s after the first period. Brainerd jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second with goals from Cheyenne Abear and Gabbie Smith. Those would be the only two they score for the game.
Minnetonka had dug themselves a hole out of which to climb. Maggie Nicholson scored an unassisted PP goal in the second to cut the lead to one. Kailey Langefels added another PP goal for Tonka late in the third to force OT. This one ends in a 2-2 tie.
I thought Tonka would get it going this weekend. I was wrong. One win in 5 games just doesn’t add up.
B/LF goes to 2-1-1 on year. Minnetonka to 1-3-1.
Eden Prairie at Apple Valley
I had this one at 5-2 for the Eagles on Eden Prairie. Real life was 4-2. Sydney Langseth had 1 and 3. Grace Kuipers had 2 and 1. Claire Kuipers had 1 and 1. Molly Goergan stopped 20 of 22.
The Eagles of Apple Valley got goals from Lily Leong and Grace Lankas. Keni Allen made 31 saves on 34 saves. A special thank you to the official scorekeeper at Apple Valley who denoted the empty net goal!
Centennial at Roseville
I nailed this one as a goalie battle that would end in a 2-1 victory for Roseville. That’s exactly what happened and exactly how it ended. EXCEPT…Anna Gilgosch was in net for Centennial rather than Mackenna Stoterau. Is Mackenna injured? Someone let me know, please. Anna was very good making 35 stops on 37 shots. BUT…..
Maddison Lehto was better. She made 34 saves on 35 shots to give her team the OT win.
Notable Performances
Brooklyn Myrvik made 44 saves on 46 shots to give West Fargo the 7-2 win over Crookston.
Addie Burton had 4 assists, Lily Delianides had 1 and 3, and Izzy Daniel had 3 and 2 in Blake’s 9-1 win over Duluth.
Hannah Magnusson had 4 goals on 11 shots in TRF’s 11-1 win over Park Rapids.
Lauren Henriksen had the hatty in North St. Paul/Tartan’s 7-0 win over Irondale.
Olivia Mobley had 4 goals and Allyson Qualley assisted all 4 of them in Breck’s 7-1 win over Mounds View.
