Chaska/Chan at Prior Lake
The game was tied at 0s after the first. Katelyn Roberts decided she had seen enough and scored CC’s first two goals of the game in the second. Mia Richter added one more goal to give CC a 3-0 lead heading into the third. Prior Lake’s Ellie Schumacher opened the scoring in the third just over 2 minutes in. CC’s Abby Anderson scored with the assist going to Nina Langley. Paige Pavlish scored Prior Lakes second and final goal with just :42 left in the game.
Oliva Rinzel made 16 saves on 18 shots. I had this one at 4-1 for CC. Real life was 4-2.
White Bear Lake at Grand Rapids/Greenway
LOTS of penalties in this one which favored Claire Vekich and GR/G. 9 penalties for WBL. 4 for GR/G. Claire Vekich had a hat trick for GR/G. All of them on the PP.
I figured WBL would get their offense going in this one but that is hard to do when you play a significant amount of the game a skater down.
I had this one at 4-2 in favor of WBL. But real life was 4-1 for GR/G.
Edina at Duluth
I had this one at 7-1. Real life was 7-1. But where I was wrong was I figured Edina would get off to a fast lead and then shut it down in the third. The Hornets had to step on the gas in the third to pull away. Edina held a 1-0 lead after 1. And a 3-1 lead after two. They dominated in shots with 15 each period for a total of 47 while only giving up 7. Hannah Chorske with the hat trick. Vivian Jungels with 3 assists. Mallory Uihlein and CC Bowlby each with 1 and 2.
Duluth Marshall at St. Cloud
Duluth Marshall held a commanding lead after two. The score was 4-0 and they were leading in the shot department 26-9. But then they got complacent in the third and darn near gave it away. St. Cloud stormed all the way back to make the final a one goal game thanks to Taylor Holm and her two third period goals.
I had this one going to DM at 3-1. Real life was 4-3.
Blake at Proctor/Hermantown
Blake’s Addie Burton and Maddie Wethington each had a goal and 3 assists. Lily Delianides and Izzy Daniel each had two goals. Blake held a 6-2 lead after two but P/H added two in the third to make the final 6-4. Megan Madill had two goals for P/H.
Notable Performances
Sydney Mauch had 3 and 1 in Marshall’s 9-0 win ofer Morris/Benson.
Ramsey Parent had a hand in all 3 of Blaine’s goals with 2 and 1 in the 3-1 win over Hibbing/Chisholm. Hailey Hansen saved 27 of 28 for the Bengals.
