Two games on this Thanksgiving Eve. Here we go…
Dodge County at North St. Paul/Tartan
Dodge County has started the season 2-0 with a really nice win over Cloquet-Esko-Carlton and then dominating Moose Lake. This will be their third road game in a row to start the year. In fact, they start the season with 5 straight road games! That’s insane. The scoring has been very balanced with 12 skaters registering points. Olivia Smallbrook has been relatively quiet but I think that changes tonight.
NSP/T has played 5 games already with their lone win coming in the first game of the year vs. Jefferson . In the most recent game they showed they don’t have any quit in them. Down 0-4 after the first to Cambridge/Isanti they battled back by scoring 3 in the second and 1 in the third to force OT. Unfortunately the comeback bid was extinguished when C/I scored 1:32 into the overtime period. Lauren Henrikson will be looking to her teammates to add to the goal scoring. Lauren has 4 of the 8 goals on the year. That is not sustainable.
Dodge County makes a long bus ride home a little easier by winning 3-1.
Red Wing at Rochester John Marshall
Taylor Heise is as synonymous with Red Wing as boots. But Red Wing still has their boots. Red Wing has had a rough start to the year as they are searching for a new identity without their former star. There will be lots of opportunities for goals tonight as each team is allowing just about 7 goals per game against. The winner of this game might simply be the team who is willing to shoot from everywhere. If this happens I think it favors RJM.
RJM 6. Red Wing 3.
