Tuesday, December 18th Game Recap

Elk River at Blaine

Blaine did a good job of keeping Kelsey King in check. She had just one goal. Shots were even at 27 each. With the Bengals keying on King the Elks’ Allison Fischer and Madelyn Chistian seized the opportunity. Allison had 1 and 3 while Madelyn chipped in an assist to go with her hat trick.

Elk River 7. Blaine 4.

Warroad at TRF

Warroad traveled to the mini-Ralph and put on a defensive show. There are games where TRF’s Breiland and Lund get 9+ shots each! Warroad allowed only 9 shots to the team over 3 periods.

BSM at Holy Angels

BSM’s Rose Beeman with her second shutout in a row! She got a lot of help from the girls in front of her- 9 shots allowed. 9th grader Lily Mortenson getting in on the action with 1 and 1. Maya Jones with her second 2 goal outing in a row. Therese DeCesare with 1 and 1.

BSM 7. Holy Angels 0.

Maple Grove at Anoka

This was a much better showing for Anoka in this one. Although not good enough. This was only 1-0 after two in favor of Maple Grove. Anoka outshot Maple Grove. MG’s Lucy Morgan with the shutout.

Farmington at Eden Prairie

EP dominated this game in every aspect but the final score. Shots were 29-16 in favor of the Eagles. 16 total penalties. Half of them roughing penalties. EP’s Grace Kuipers with 1 and 2. Carrie Byrnes with 2 goals. Syd Langseth with 1 and 1.

Claire Enright with 3 assists and Samantha Moehle for 2 goals for Farmington.

Forest Lake at Edina

Forest Lake’s run came to a screeching halt last night. Edina held a 4-0 lead after the first despite having to kill 4 penalties. It was 7-0 after two periods and that is how it ended. CC Bowlby and Tella Jungels have found some chemistry as linemates. 3 points each last night. Ellie Strittmater with the 27 save shutout.

Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato at Mound Westonka

I have carpal tunnel after having to type out each of those team names. Shots were 59-19 in favor of the Whitehawks. MW’s Taylor Smith got some rest in the third after saving 11 of 11. Grace Peterson had 2 and 2.

Lakeville North at Wayzata

Wayzata bounces back nicely after the Edina loss pumping in 7 goals. Gretchen Branton with the hat trick plus an assist. Alexa Ocel with 2 and 1.

Fergus Falls at Alexandria

I had this one at 3-2 for Fergus Falls. Real life was 3-2 for Alexandria. Alex won it in OT on a goal by Marki Oberg. Shots were heavily weighted in Alexandria’s favor, 42-16.

North Wright County at Brainerd/Little Falls

Oh man, my carpal tunnel flaring up again. Cheyenne Abear with 2 goals for the Warriors. B/LF did a great job of keeping the Bourgerie, Lemke, Finnerty line contained. 3 points combined.

Centennial at Andover

I had this one at 4-1 for Andover. Nailed it! Peyton Hemp with 2 and 1.

Notable Performances

Emily Olson with 5 and 1 and Anna Keranen with 1 and 4 in Delano/Rockford’s 8-1 win over Waconia.

Sadie Peart with 3 and 3 for Grand Rapids/Greenway in their 8-0 win over Duluth.

Sedona Blair getting the start and the shutout for Holy Family in their 5-0 win over Orono.

Maddy Peterson with 2 and 2 for Princeton in their 5-4 win over Chisago Lakes.

Madison McDonald with 3 and 3 for East Grand Forks in their 10-0 win over Crookston.

Katie Kaufman and Ava Stinnett each with 4 points in Hill Murray’s 8-2 win over North St. Paul/Tartan.
