Saturday, December 15th Game Recap

Mike, here you go. Thank you for reading!

Minnehaha United at Blake

Who is responsible for scheduling this game, by the way?! I thought it could get ugly. Figured Blake by at least 8. It was 8-0 after two. Counting down from 5….Delianides. 4….Burton….3 Daniel. 2…Abraham and Blum. 1…4 players.

Blake 9. Minnehaha 0.

Hill Murray at South St. Paul

Figured this would be close with Hill pulling out a victory. Ended in a low scoring tie. SSP’s goalie Delaney Norman was outstanding saving 31 of 32.

Hill 1. SSP 1.

Brainerd/Little Falls at Warroad

I figured B/LF would end the weekend 2-0. I was wrong. Warroad’s Hendrickson and Corneliusen put on a show. Typically it is Hendrickson dishing Corneliusen. Not Saturday. Hendrickson with the hatty. Corneliusen assisting all 3 plus getting a goal of her own.

Warroad 4. B/LF 2.

Minneapolis at Holy Angels

Minneapolis had been on a bit of a winning streak. But Holy Angels was having none of that. They dominated the game outshooting Minneapolis 41-20.

Holy Angels 2. Minneapolis 1.

Burnsville at Eastview

The Blaze getting back on the right side of things. 7 players registering points. Allison Urlaub with 1 and 1. Goalie Riley Pester saving 21 of 22.

Bursville 4. Eastview 1.

Duluth Marshall at BSM

DM had scored 18 goals over the previous 2 games. BSM’s Carly Greene was out. Can’t argue with logic, right? Wrong. Really wrong. BSM’s Rose Beeman making me look bad! Thanks a lot, Rose! 😉 Rose stepped right in and pitched a shut out. BSM’s Maya Jones with 2 and 1, Olivia Haag with 1 and 1, and Emma Peschel with 2 assists.

BSM 4. Duluth Marshall 0.

Maple Grove at Centennial

McMahon/Morgan vs. Pitlick/Stoterau. McMahon with 1 and 1. Morgan with 24 saves. Pitlick with 1 and 1. Stoterau with 33 saves.

Maple Grove 3. Centennial 2.

Rosemount at Lakeville South

Tuttle sisters vs. Maloney sisters. Maloney sisters won the battle (4 pts to 3 pts) but the Tuttle sisters won the war.

Rosemount 5. Lakeville South 4.

Wayzata at Edina

Wayzata is really good. It is just that Edina is better. I had this one figured as a one goal margin. It wasn’t. The Hornets completely shut down Wayzata’s potent offense limiting them to just 16 shots. Edina’s CC Bowlby with 2 and 1. Tella Jungels with 2 assists. Ellie Strittmater with the shutout.

Edina 3. Wayzata 0.

Shakopee at Prior Lake

This was WAY closer than I figured. I was thinking running time. It was 0-0 after 2. Shots ended 25-25. Sabers’ Paige McNeil with 1 and 1. Briana Eastman with the shutout.

Shakopee 2. Prior Lake 0.

Mound Westonka at Alexandria

Check this out……..Mound Westonka won 6-0, okay? We kinda figured they’d win. But they only had 12 shots on net and gave up 32!! What?! Mound’s Taylor Smith is a beast. .075 GAA and .969 SV% on the season so far. Crazy good.

Mound 6. Alexandria 0.

Stillwater at White Bear Lake

I figured WBL would follow through from their Breck win and string together a winning streak. They did just that thanks to Calla Frank and her 56 saves!! Good gawd. Syd Shearen with 2 and 1. Lauren MacLean with 2 assists.

WBL 3. Stillwater 2.

Notable Performances

9 girls with 2 points each in Fergus Falls’ 6-0 win over Crookston. No one with 1 pt. No one with 3 points. And 12 assists on 6 goals. That’s what I like to see!

Mankato West’s Molly Grundhoffer with 3 and 2 in their 7-2 win over Windom.

Alex Dixey with 1 and 3 for Chaska/Chan in their 8-1 win over Moorhead.

Breck’s Sadie Lindsay with the hat trick in the 6-0 win over St. Paul United.

Ashley Mills with 5 points and Brooke Remington with 4 in Forest Lake’s 9-1 win over Woodbury.

Kiera Ryan with the late third period game winner for CDH vs. Mounds View.
