Park of Cottage Grove at Eagan
Park of Cottage Grove is 2-5 on the year but that is a bit misleading. They have a really nice win over South St. Paul. 3 of their losses have been by one goal. One by two goals. The only game they haven’t been “in” is their 5-1 loss to Forest Lake. Yet even in that game it was 1-1 after 2.
Adie Stienke leads the way offensively with 8 points in 7 games. She has made the rounds through the HP/USA Hockey camps. Goalie Jocelyn Veary has a .928 SV%.
Eagan is 7-1 on the year. They have rattled off seven in a row after losing the season opener to Wayzata. They have nice wins over Lakeville South, Shakopee, East Ridge, and Burnsville but they barely got by Prior Lake last weekend.
Sophomore Emily Cronkhite has been really good and has 10 goals and 11 assists through the first 8 games. Juniors Jenna Ruiz and Julia Barger have chipped in 16 and 14 points respectively.
I think this one is closer than their records would indicate. If Park of Cottage Grove wants a chance they need to keep the scoring low.
