Thief River Falls at Alexandria
I haven’t been more wrong all season so far! I thought TRF would get the best of Alexandria in this one due to their desire to shoot the puck combined with Alex’s slow start. Alexandria pulled it all together last night and dominated a very good TRF team winning in a very convincing fashion, 5-1.
TRF got on the board first with a goal from Shelby Breiland assisted by Khloe Lund. TRF took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission despite being out shot 14-5. Alexandria came out of the first break on a mission scoring three unanswered goals to give them a 3-1 lead after two. Alex added two more in the third frame for good measure.
Sophomore Marki Oberg had two goals, Makenna Aure had 1 and 2, and Ali Castle had 1 and 1 on the night for Alexandria. Hailee Bailey made 12 stops on 13 shots. Dr. Seuss would like that last sentence.
Brainerd/Little Falls at St. Cloud
In the preview I figured B/LF would win by at least 4. They won by exactly 4. B/LF scored 7 and allowed 3. It is nice to see Lindsey Booth get off to a fast start this year. She had two goals last night. Gabbie Smith had 2 and 1, Josie Kramer had 1 and 1, Cheyenne Abear had 3 assists, and Ella Kalusche added 2 assists for the Warriors.
For St. Cloud Jordann Swingle got her second goal of the year and Gabbie Rud had 1 and 1.
