Sorry everyone. Life got in the way. Work is busy this time of year. Had to travel out of the country for some business. An interesting thing to point out is the site is getting traffic from Mexico, Germany, China, Finland, and England to name a handful of countries. Sota Girls Hockey has a global audience. Just last week we got our first traffic from Canada. Actually come to think of it that Canada traffic was probably me. Ha. What a dummy. But the international traffic is pretty consistent. Maybe it’s just Minnesota people logging in while traveling. Either way when the map within the analytics lights up it’s kinda cool. Looks like I missed quite a bit.
Niccum sisters left Mound Westonka for Orono overnight and look to be immediately eligible. I am curious to know what went down there.
Brainerd has won 5 in a row only giving up 3 goals in those games including 3 shutouts. But their next 4 games they play Roseau, North Wright County, Grand Rapids/Greenway, and Breck.
Warroad is 7-3-1. In games vs. AA teams they are 2-3-1 with a -2 goal differential. Those opponents include LVN, Tonka, CC, Elk River, Wayzata, and Northfield. In games vs. A teams they are 5-0 with a +43 goal differential.
Apple Valley is 9-1. Maybe it is 1997? There’s a flux capacitor joke in there somewhere. I’m not witty enough to find it though. Maybe you are. By the way, 9 of their 10 games have been 2 goals or less differential. 5 of their wins are by 1 goal.
Eastview, after getting off to a 4-0 start have come back to Earth going 2-4-1 since. Avery Chesek has 15 goals. She faces Apple Valley goalie Keni Allen tomorrow.
Andover and Maple Grove are the only teams that still have not lost. These two play each other on Tuesday of next week.
Conversely, we have 5 teams still looking for their first W- Waseca, Minnehaha United, Morris/Benson, Mounds View, and International Falls. Waseca and Minnehaha United play each other on December 27th.
Proctor/Hermantown is averaging 2.90 GPG. They have a 2.90 GAA. They are 4-6.
Farmington, after starting the season with 3 losses, won 4 in row before losing to EP last night. They are 4-4. Still not quite where they expected to be but heading in the right direction.
Burnsville is 7-2-1. But the South Suburban is down this year and their non-conference schedule to date has been weak. And they have not faced Farmington or Apple Valley yet.
Rochester Lourdes is 7-3. Rochester Mayo, Rochester Century, and Rochester John Marshall are a combined 6-22. Maybe a cooperative is in order?
That’s it. That’s all I have today. I know. Pretty lame after being off for 12 days. Better effort next week. Enjoy the weekend.
