Friday. It’s pay day. We are going to profile the games with athletes that are going to earn their paycheck today. Relax NCAA. We are talking about mythical paychecks okay? This is amateur athletics after all.
Blake at Wayzata
Blake’s Lily Delianides has 11 points in 2 games. But the Bears face their toughest competition yet in Section 6AA foe Wayzata. For Blake to get the W Lily is going to have to earn her points tonight.
Wayzata clearly hasn’t decided on their full time goalie yet. Julia Kimlinger and Annika Lavender have split the two games so far this year. Each one of them with comparable numbers. Whoever is in net tonight is going to face a lot of shots.
Blake 5. Wayzata 3.
Proctor/Hermantown at SSP
The Mirage lost to Cloquet in their first game of the year. Coach Stauber would like a do over on her first game behind the bench. They beat a weakened Hopkins team, who lost their two best players by transfer, fairly easily. But if they want to get the W against SSP junior Michaela Phinney is going to have to earn her paycheck tonight. But for her to do that she will need to get the best of…
SSP’s junior defenseman Makenna Deering, Makenna is committed to Bemidji State. SSP won their lone game of the year against Delano/Rockford 5-0. SSP historically has a very stingy defense.
SSP 3. Proctor 1.
Andover at BSM
BSM just knocked off the #1 ranked team in 1A in Breck. Can they go back to back weeks in knocking off the #1s when they face off againt 2A #1 Andover?! Wouldn’t that be something! In order for them to have a chance senior Rose Beeman is going to have to have the game of her life. Andover shoots from anywhere and everywhere and they go to the net hard.
Andover’s Peyton Hemp might be too much for the Red Knights to handle.
Andover 4. BSM 1.
Roseau at Minnetonka
Roseau has not played a game yet this year. And they go against a team in Minnetonka that has outscored their opponents 15-0 in their two games. Tonka has not given up many shots, either. The Rams’ Kayla Santl can score goals and she will need to tonight if they are to beat Minnetonka.
Tonka’s first line center Kayley Crawford is going to have use her speed and grit to shut down Santl in the D zone to keep her out of the box score.
Tonka 4. Roseau 2.
Minor comment, Hopkins lost two good players to “transfer”, neither of which were their “best”.
