Tuesday, November 12th Game Recap

BSM at Breck

Wow, BSM. That is Coach Podein’s and this group’s signature win. The first period was pretty even with the shot advantage going to the Mustangs, 8-7. The lone goal in the frame came from Breck’s Emily Zumwinkle on the PP. But the second period…oh, man…the second period was ALL Benilde. 18 shots on net and 4 unanswered goals- Zavoral on the PP, Podein, Junker, and Peschel. I’m not sure Breck knew what hit them that period. 4-1 Red Knights after two. BSM’s Olivia Haag scored early in the third to extend their lead before Breck finally put something together scoring 2 special teams goals to get back in the game- Mobley with a shorty and Klepinger on the PP. But the comeback effort came up short as Emma Hoen put the nail in the coffin at 13:52 of the third.

BSM’s Rose Beeman got the start in net and saved 24 of 27. Breck will miss Uma. It looks like the Mustangs may have a revolving door in net for a bit.

BSM 6. Breck 3.

Fergus Falls at Prarie Center

Prairie Center’s Kennedy Lemke is the hardest working player in girls high school hockey. Kennedy saw 97 shots over the first two games of the year. She saw 54 more last night! Rosemount at Chisago Lakes

Chisago’s Dani Burgen reminded the Irish why she is on the National Team as an under ager. She scored 2 first period goals. Chisago’s Kaitlyn Hansen scored a quick one to start the second to give them a 3 goal lead. Rosemount wasn’t going to roll over, thought. They scored the next 3 to tie it up. Malia McKinnon scored the game winner for Chisago at 6:37 of the third before Jenna Lowry sealed it with an ENG. Chisago’s Dani Burgen ended the night with 2 and 2. Jenny Lowry had 1 and 3.
