Thursday, January 10th Game Recap

St. Cloud at River Lakes

River Lakes goalie Nicole Wander is the story of this game. She was outstanding in net saving 35 of 35. St. Cloud seemed to have the upper hand in this one yet they couldn’t put one in the net. 4 checking penalties and 2 roughing penalties called between the two teams. Maybe a bit of a rivalry?

River Lakes 3. St. Cloud 0.

Lakeville South doubled up Eastview on shots yet it took a goal in OT from Taylor Otremba for Lakeville South the get the win.

The Sabers’ Paige McNeil cut the lead to one 2:25 into the second but Lakeville North’s Peyton Cullaton scored a PP goal to put the Panthers back up by 2. Shakopee would turn up the heat in the third but it was not enough.

Breck 4. Wayzata 3.

Rosemount at Eagan

Eagan held a 2-0 lead after 1. Rosemount battled back in the second to tie it up. The third period was scoreless. I tuned in to the live stream just as the OT was starting so I got to watch about :12 of the game before it was over. At the center face off to start the OT period the draw was won by Eagan to the right. Emily Cronkhite picked it up, entered the zone, drove all the way below the goal line, threw to puck to the net, and somehow it went in. Game over. It took literally :10.

Eagan 3. Rosemount 2.

Stillwater at Roseville

This game was all about the goalies. 82 combined shot. Only 3 total goals scored. That’s a .963 combined SV%. Pretty darn good. Sophie Cronk got the win in net for the Ponies saving 38 of 39. Roseville’s Maddison Lehto just did what she always does saving 41 of 43.

Stillwater 2. Roseville 1.
