Friday, December 14th Game Recap

Brainerd/Little Falls at Roseau

Brainerd rolled into Roseau having been unbeaten in their previous 6 games. Although this game was all Brainerd through the first two periods (shots were 27-14 after two) the two teams were tied 2-2 halfway through the third after Roseau’s Celine Stroot scored the tying goal at the 8:09 mark. Brainerd’s Lindsey Booth scored the game winner at 9:59 of the third and Abby Pohlkamp added some insurance on the PP with less than 4:00 to play.

Lindsey Booth continued her great play with 2 and 1.  Abby Pohlkamp added 1 and 2 and goalie Olivia King made 19 saves.

Final.  Brainerd 4.  Roseau 2.

St. Paul United at Rochester Lourdes

18 penalties combined is the first thing that sticks out to me about this game. 6 of the 9 combined goals came while someone was serving a penalty.  5 PP goals and 1 shorty.

Rochester Lourdes scored the first 5 goals of the game en route to the 7-2.  Lourdes’ Emma Schmitz had 2 and 2, Sarah Dravis and Maggie Hanzel had 1 and 2, and Clara Billings had 2 goals.

SPU continues to struggle. Jenna Hoops and Madison Shuman each had 1 and 1.

Final.  Lourdes 7.  SPU 2.
