Thursday, November 15th Game Recap- Ego Edition

St. Cloud vs Buffalo

Looks like the coaches employed the right strategy.  You know the one I talked about in the preview?! Gabbie Rud was held scoreless and Jada Habisch had one goal.  Julia McAlpin was the one who stepped up for Buffalo with a goal and an assist. Senior Kennedy Sohler was very good in net for Buffalo stopping 28 of 29 shots.

I had this one pegged at 3-2 for Buffalo.  Real life score was 3-1 in favor of Buffalo.

Shakopee vs Eastview

Like I mentioned in the game preview the game plan for Shakopee had to be to feed the points and for McNeil and Roder to get to the net.  Bachelor had an assist from the point on Roder’s goal.  McNeil added two goals (one empty netter).   I am just going to go with that Roder’s goal was from a rebound on a Bachelor shot from the point because it makes me look smart.

I had this one at Shakopee 4 and Eastview 2.  Real life score was Shakopee with 3 and Eastview with 1.

Rochester Lourdes vs Eden Prairie

I had this one at 4-2 in favor of EP in the preview.  Real life score was 3-1. I knew the Eagles would win!  The joke here is that Eden Prairie is the Eagles but so is Lourdes.  So witty.  My thought was EP would neutralize Schmitz.  I was right. She was held to just one assist.

EP’s Langseth got hers with 2 goals.  Sophomore EP goalie Molly Goergen made 20 saves on 21 shots.

13 penalties combined in this one, by the way!

Eagan vs Lakeville South

In the preview I had Eagan over Lakeville South 3-1.  Real life score was 4-1 for an Eagan victory.

Lakeville South was net zero on special teams.  They gave up a shorty to Emily Cronkhite but they got a shorty from Taylor Otremba.

Ms. Cronkhite had 1 and 3 for Eagan. Jenna Ruiz had a hatty and Julia Barger had a couple assists.

Chaska/Chan vs Wayzata

In the preview I said Garvis, Wisnewski, and Hackley 1.0 would take care of Spear and Roberts.  They did.  I also said Branton, Ocel, Matthews, McCollins and Urban would do their thing.  They did.  Those 5 forwards combined for 9 points.

I had this one pegged at 6-1 Trojans.  I had the goal total right as the real life score was 7-0 Trojans.

Mounds View vs Hill Murray

I mentioned in the preview that Hill likes to shoot the puck averaging 35 shots per game.  They had 36 last night.  Mounds View elected to start sophomore goalie Abbie Thompson who saw limited action last year. Katie Kaufman had 3 and 2 and Haylee Blinkhorn had 1 and 2 for the Pioneers.

I had this one at 4-1 in the game preview. In real life Hill doubled that goal production prediction and took the W with an 8-1 victory. Did you just try to say ‘production prediction’ 10 times as fast as you could?  I did.

Bemidji vs Thief River Falls

In the preview I mentioned TRF has some really nice players in Khloe Lund, Shelby Breiland, and Gabby Steele. Breiland had two goals on 11 shots. Lund had one assist but she had 11 shots on net as well. TRF elected to start senior goalie Faith Porter in net last night.  She had a 15 save shutout.  It looks like Porter and Steele will share equal time in net again this year.

My preview said 5-1 for TRF.  Real life score was 3-0 for TRF.

By the way, thank you to the official scorekeeper for keeping track of individual shots!  I love it.

I was 7-0 on my predictions last night.  Man, I’m good.  And yes, I have my feet kicked up on my desk.
